Fix Tussock Traverse Alpine Walk and Run

The Tussock Traverse is a 27km run or walk. The course begins approximately 6kms up the Tukino Road in the Rangipo Desert (entrance off the Desert Road, SH1) with a long hard climb straight up.
The track finishes on the front lawn of the Chateau Tongariro in Whakapapa where you can grab a much deserved rest and a BBQ. The Park hosts the registration and also provides the accommodation for the event. Buses run from National Park to the start of the race and pick you up at the end to head back for a much deserved dip in the spa!
National Park 4X4 Drive
Saturday & Sunday 3 & 4 March 2012
Organised by the Auckland 4WD Club, the region has attracted this event due to the fantastic 4X4 tracks around the National Park. The Park Travellers’ Lodge hosts this event and provides accommodation at a discounted rate for members of the Auckland 4WD Club.
Donations from this event have gone to community facilities, such as the National Park Playcentre, the National Park community hall restoration project and National Park School. The Park are happy to be once again hosting this event in March 2012.
T42 Central Plateau Mountain Bike and Run

The T42 event has something for everyone, from casual fun runs and walks to a 45 km mountain bike ride through the iconic 42 Traverse track. The Park Travellers’ Lodge is the official accommodation provider, we also provide the registration area, and throw a fun and entertaining evening after the event is completed.
