The Park is proud to be able to offer our hotel as a wedding reception and accommodation venue. We have been honored to host a number of weddings over the last few years and we have a dedicated wedding coordinator on site to help ensure your day is as fantastic as you imagine it to be.
Because of our Ruapehu location and venue itself we like to think we offer something a little different to the norm. We offer a relaxed and informal atmosphere, in the middle of a stunning location, which offers fantastic views and photographic opportunities of volcanic mountains that acted as stunning backdrops in The Lord of the Rings movies. Our fantastic and professional staff will be on hand to ensure your special day runs smoothly.
We are able to host up to 130 guests, and offer either exclusive use of the lodge or use of our function room for a smaller wedding.
What is usually a day affair turns into a weekend with the lodge as friends and family come from all over NZ and abroad to spend the weekend in a distinctive and exciting location. As we have accommodation to suit all budgets and tastes we can accommodate all of your guests comfortably in a social environment which allows them to spend more time together. Food and Beverage
Our wedding menus are priced competitively and consist of three main price points to cover every budget. However it’s very important for you to have your favourites, so if there is something in particular you want on your special day, our chef will work with you on preparing your own menu.
Our bar offerings are also very competitively priced and we are happy to try to order in your favourites if we do not already stock them.
Exclusive Wedding Venue Hire
We offer exclusive venue hire which is available to weddings with 100 or more guests. Exclusive venue hire includes use of the entire National Park hotel and all of the hotel facilities, for your guests only, no other bookings are taken. The cost to hire the lodge exclusively is dependent on season and guest numbers.
If you have smaller numbers you may like to hire our function room which can host 70 guests. The cost to hire the function room is dependent on guest numbers and time of year. The function room is available year round.
"We held our wedding at The Park Hotel in April of 2014. We initially chose The Park because of its location in one of the most scenic and captivating parts of New Zealand, which was important to us as we had quite a few guests from overseas for whom this would be their first visit to New Zealand. We also loved the atmosphere at The Park which was just the right combination of rustic and stylish. Soon after we began planning our wedding, it became clear that we had picked the right place! Absolutely everyone involved, from the general manager right down to the bar staff and housekeepers, was incredibly and sincerely helpful. We felt that they truly took the time to get to know us and went to great efforts to help make everything about the wedding reflect who we are as a couple. We had both the ceremony and the reception at The Park and they were attentive to details we would never have thought of, such as scattering rose petals to form an “aisle” for the bride to walk down. As for the reception, the food was excellent and they were particularly good about catering to our guests with special dietary needs. We honestly couldn’t have asked for better service or a better venue to suit our needs”.
